Tickets

When you purchase a ticket on the Lowther Castle website www.lowthercastle.org you agree to the terms and conditions of sale as set out below:-

  • Our enquiry and booking service is offered as a service to you, the customer, by us, Lowther Castle via our website.
  • These Terms and Conditions set out the terms of our contract with you in relation to our supply of any ticket that you purchase using the Booking Service. If you do not agree with these terms, you must not use the Booking Service.
  • You confirm that you are at least 18 years old and have authority to use the payment method or billing account details you provide for the purpose of settling any payments due for any purchase made through the Booking Service, or that you owe to us. You also promise that all information supplied by you in using the Booking Service is accurate and that you will not make any speculative, false or fraudulent reservations.
  • It is your responsibility to inform us of any change of address, contact phone number or email address. Please note that our preferred method of contacting you is by email, and it is your responsibility to provide a valid email address.
  • To redeem your ticket(s) you will need to present in printed form or display to us on a mobile electronic device the order confirmation voucher at our admissions point. Failure to do so may result in your ticket(s) being withheld.
  • Once purchased, tickets cannot be exchanged, refunded or returned, and are valid on the date / time specified only. Tickets will be validated upon entrance and cannot be re-used.
  • Customers must keep personal belongings with them at all times. We accept no responsibility for the theft of any property or personal item.
  • Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times and shall remain under the supervision of an adult at all times. Please note that Lowther is a Historic Garden Site and as such there are hidden rockpools plus a steep drop from the escarpment.
  • We reserve the right, without refund and, in our absolute discretion, to refuse entry to the Castle and Gardens.
  • Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.
  • We do not allow bicycles or scooters into the gardens.
  • Lowther Castle & Gardens is a non-smoking, non-vaping venue.
  • Photography is allowed for non-commercial private use only.
  • The flying of drones is prohibited.
  • Breach of any of these Terms and Conditions or any unacceptable behaviour likely to cause damage, nuisance or injury shall result in your removal from the grounds.
  • We will only use the personal information you provide to us to provide the service or to inform you about similar services which we provide, unless you tell us you do not want to receive this information.
  • Please note that Joint Ticket purchases with other visitor attractions may have different terms and conditions for online booking and cancellation policies. Please contact individual attractions for their terms. Opening times and admission dates will vary for each attraction – see each individual website.
  • Full payment is required at time of booking.
  • Advance tickets are available until the day prior to the event. After this time, advance tickets are unavailable.
  • All prices and information are correct at the time of publishing. However they are subject to change at any time without prior notice.
  • An adult ticket is valid for customers aged 16 years and over. A child ticket is valid for customers aged 3 – 15 inclusive.
  • Customers are advised to check their tickets upon receipt as mistakes cannot always be rectified.
  • Lowther will not re-issue lost or stolen tickets.
  • The management reserve the right to change the programme of events without prior notice. Lowther will endeavour to adhere to all timings advertised for all events; however this is not always possible. Customers are reminded that for technical, operational and/or meteorological reasons some facilities may be removed or closed and may be altered at any time without prior notice.
  • In the event of any changes to an event by Lowther, Lowther will endeavour to contact all purchasers either by phone, e-mail or in writing (using details provided at time of booking) advising them on the course of action. However, please note that it is the customer’s responsibility to check the details of the event, and Lowther cannot guarantee that they will inform the customer of any changes.
  • In the event of an event cancellation or closure Lowther accepts no responsibility for travel, accommodation and any other associated costs.
  • Customers are asked to report any injuries/incidents/accidents that occur whilst at an event to a member of staff at the time.
  • Events where an age restriction applies are clearly indicated on all promotional material, and during booking. Customers are advised to read all information which applies to the event before booking, and carry proof of age if appropriate.
  • As a condition of sale visitors consent to being photographed, filmed or recorded as part of the audience. Permission is implicit that the material may be used on TV, Websites or any other media outlet or on promotional material. This includes images captured by security CCTV.
  • We will always respect your privacy and any personal communication between you and ourselves. We will always comply with any data protection legislation currently in force.
